Privacy Policy & Terms
How Board Rankings PK collects, processes, and protects public academic data with complete transparency and accountability.
1. Overview & Public Data Disclosure
Board Rankings PK (boardrankings.pk) is an independent educational analytics portal designed to bring merit-based transparency, statistical ranking, and institutional insights to Pakistan’s academic landscape. All student grades, marks, roll numbers, and institute affiliations displayed on this platform originate exclusively from publicly published examination gazettes and official result gazettes released by educational boards (including Federal Board FBISE Islamabad).
Board Rankings is an independent platform operated by Hyphen Co. Ltd. and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) or any governmental examination authority. Official board-issued marksheets and verified certificates remain the sole authoritative legal record for academic verification.
2. What Data We Process & What We Never Collect
We maintain strict data minimization principles:
- Publicly Available Academic Data: Roll numbers, candidate names (as published in gazettes), total marks, percentages, grades, passing status, exam session/year, and school/college names.
- Zero Sensitive Personal Data: We do NOT collect, request, or store CNIC/B-Form numbers, phone numbers, home addresses, guardian details, email addresses, or financial information of candidates.
3. How We Use Academic Data
The data indexed by Board Rankings PK is utilized solely for:
- Calculating accurate national rankings and percentile distribution within respective examination sessions.
- Providing institutional academic performance analytics (pass rates, subject distribution, top achievers).
- Enabling candidates and parents to benchmark educational progress across academic institutions nationwide.
4. Privacy Rights, Corrections & Opt-Out Requests
We respect candidate privacy. If a student or legal guardian wishes to correct a clerical name discrepancy or request the redaction/de-listing of a specific candidate record from public search results, please email us directly with verification details at:
5. Security & Infrastructure
Our platform operates on enterprise-grade cloud architecture with SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS), parameterized query sanitization, and distributed database isolation to prevent unauthorized data tampering.
6. Third-Party Advertising & Google Cookies
We work with third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense, to serve non-intrusive advertisements across our platform. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve personalized or contextual ads based on visits to this platform. Users may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect additional examination boards, regulatory guidelines, or platform features. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the current policy terms.
7. Institutional Ranking Methodology & Statistical Neutrality
To ensure rigorous fairness across institutions with vastly different candidate volumes, Board Rankings computes institutional standing using an objective Bayesian Weighted Performance Index (SBayes):
Where Raw Quality Index = (0.35 × Pass Rate) + (0.35 × Average %) + (0.30 × Rate of Candidates with ≥80% A+)
- Volume Neutrality: Small cohorts (N < 25) are statistically regressed toward the national board average (70.0) to eliminate small-sample bias, while institutions maintaining high merit across large cohorts are rewarded for consistency at scale.
- Zero Paid Endorsements: Institutional ranks are 100% algorithmically generated from public gazettes. No institution can purchase, boost, or sponsor ranking positions.
- Standardized Benchmarking: Independent academic rankings provide comparative insight for parents and educators, and do not constitute official board certification.
